Single Vineyard

Jacques Potier 2021

£30.00

Tasting Notes

A classic right-bank style Bordeaux blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The nose is forthcoming with blackberry, black cherry, cassis, and leather. Merlot shines in this blend and brings elegance and fruit to the palate and in the case of the Cabernet Franc, it is spice, structure, and perfume. The palate is full and juicy with soft, fine, and well-integrated tannins. The wine shows great depth with a long, lingering finish.

Winemaker's Notes

The components for the blend comes from block 5 Merlot and block 15 Cabernet Franc on the property. Both vineyards are northwest facing, planted in an east-west row direction on well-drained weathered granite soils. All the grapes are hand-harvested, sorted and whole berries are fermented in stainless steel tanks. The different grape varieties were fermented separately with extended maceration on skins after fermentation. Only the best barrels were selected for this wine. The wine was aged for 12 months in 35 % new 300L French oak barrels.
