Tasting Notes
A true expression of block 19 planted on the bank of the Kromrivier. This premium clone SN 24 is known for producing the highest quality of wines with distinct aromas of tropical fruits and in this case characters of quince, apricots and pears. The palate is rich and savory which elegantly carries the fruit to a long and beautifully balanced finish with bright acidity as backbone.
Winemaker's Notes
Harvested at optimal ripeness late in the season after a long and slow ripening season. The grapes were hand harvested and went through a sorting action before crushing and pressed off into a stainless steel tank for rough lees settling over 48 hours. The clean juice was racked off and partially fermented in bigger 500 and 300 l French and Hungarian barrels for two weeks and spending some three months on the lees after which it was racked and settled for bottling in August 2022.
